Alright I just have to ask this, since its been bothering me ever since I joined. Why is DC so slow? I live in USA, where is the server located? And is the server a home computer at Shadowcasters house? I have ADSL, and I can surf with good speed, but alot of times DC takes forever to fufill my requests and sometimes times out all together.

Don't know, it does seem slow occasionally but it's fast enough at other times (now is fine for me).

the server's in USA if memory serves. reasons it could be slow sometimes are:

- amount of traffic on server
- contention on your ADSL
- slow ASP scripts

Yes it is very slow. I can tell, since I have cable. The host that the DC uses is not exactly top of the line.

99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.

yeah, it's super slow for me aswell, even though I have this speedy new wirless connection I remember it loading faster on a 56k modem on my old pc, thats weird.. Maybe some changes to the site since then did it.

It slows down when Shadowcaster uses his toaster as well as his computer. Trance Vibrator makes the whole site go offline.

Shen: LOL

If it helps I just updated the Downloads script so that there is less ASP scripting (replacing some of it with SQL), which should make things faster... I just wrote the longest SQL statement ever
