Although I tell most people I started making them when I was 8, which is true enough, and if I get to show them what i've made it makes everything better.
You kind of get a new respect when you show them a game that is quite decent and enjoyable. Like Prototype X for me. I showed a couple of my mates that, and they had no idea that I made games, but I showed them and they were loving it!
Outsiders to the community, more often than not, take a shining to some of the games we batter because of their "old school" properties.

Don't you hate when you get the, "Bullshit, you didn't make that." You feel like killing the person. You say, "Look, here is my name!" (on the title screen) And they go, "That's not your name." ARRHHHH! I can't stand those people.
when I tell normal people about it, they say "wow" and want to play my games, and usually tell me i am good and stuff...but when I tell girls about it they say "wow" and after that call me a hippie-nerd.
1) I never tell my friends unless they say 'Oh, do you have a website?' - I tell them and after they see it they're like 'Cool, how did you make those games?'.
2) My teacher catches me programming or playing my own games at school. Then he asks how I made it. I suspect he's planning something extremely heinous... such as asking me to help make the school website.
Bah, I just tell no-one except my closest friends, who then try and turn it into some money making scam thinking they'll get like 1000 quid a month each. Fools.

i tell pretty much everyone. they seem to think my games are pretty cool, despite me assuring them that they are crap in comparison with some proper click games.
WOW! Inverurie Academy... Did you actually go there Wong Chung Bang?? A good friend of mine named Ross Walker used to attend that school (Inverurie Academy) before moving to Luthermuir and joining Mearns Academy. Anyway, you probably haven't got a clue what I'm on about but that'd be cool if you knew him and actually went.
anytime I mention i design games I usually get 'You're having me on! Come off it!' I showed my mate the source of Crystal Sword yesterday and he was amazed since hes always wanted to make an RPG.
I'm bad to the bone

I have told my friends about TGF/MMF, and now the half school (Or maybe not) knows about them. Some guys are always asking me to lend MMF and I always say: NO! Its annoying...
P.S. Darkman, where are you from? There was one darkaman-named guy from one finnish site...
"I was in an Animation class in high school for two years"
Wow. That’s fucking cool. After the 4th grade I haven’t learned anything “really” interesting in school. So what do you learn in Animation class? How does it start, what do they tell you, are there any home works etc etc ?
Everyone thinks that it's cool that I could create games, even Invasion of the Muz was really cool to them . But then again, most of my classmates who know are IT students who have trouble making simple Visual Basic apps...

i let a few of my friends try tgf but they werent too interested in it
i dont understand it though because when i first heard of it i was so exited of the idea of making my own games but noone else seems to give a damn.
