ok, I have had this problem in every game I've made, so I decided to try and fix it

I have my guy on...
'8 Directions'
and
'When pressing ctrl, guy shoots an object in direction he is facing'.

When I go down and to the right though (diagonal) he doesnt shoot anything! It works for all the other directions but not this one

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

this diagonal shooting could be blocked by pressing too much buttons at once:arrow right +arrow down +shooting button...

unfortunately i donīt know a solution for this problem...

just thinking a bit:

arrow down is pressed+ arrow right is pressed+ctrl is pressed:shoot bulled in direction...

for all diagonal directions...

yeah steve, that happens to me to somtimes, I think it's a bug in tgf.
What I do to fix that is dont use the default shooting, but create a bouncy ball object and set its direction to the way the guy is facing. That, or.. umm I dunno

it overloads the keyboard, use any other key than shift or control and it should work

That's right, it's purely a (Windows) keyboard problem, if you mapped keypresses to a gamepad you would have no problems.

my keyboard's like that... if you try to press more than 2 buttons at once it won't recognise any of them (It's a radio keyboard)

I have my wireless keyboard, it really doesn't have this problem, but my standard keyboard does. Strange

I'll just use this post for my "Shooting Problems"

Whenever I make a platform shooter, I have a dilemma. Whenever I make the whole char in one animation, and if the player shoots while running the animation works but he slides on the ground looking as if he's stopped looking like a total retard. And whenever I make the gun and the body different objects, The body runs to fast for the gun so it looks as if the gun's trailing behind. Now some of you might not understand but for the ones who can, I need j00r help

I know exactly what you mean. I'm imagining you're using an "always - position blah relative to blah2" thingy, right ? i haven't tried, but maybe if you use the fastloop plugin, it might be repositioned fast enough
