yeah steve, that happens to me to somtimes, I think it's a bug in tgf.
What I do to fix that is dont use the default shooting, but create a bouncy ball object and set its direction to the way the guy is facing. That, or.. umm I dunno
my keyboard's like that... if you try to press more than 2 buttons at once it won't recognise any of them (It's a radio keyboard)

I'll just use this post for my "Shooting Problems"
Whenever I make a platform shooter, I have a dilemma. Whenever I make the whole char in one animation, and if the player shoots while running the animation works but he slides on the ground looking as if he's stopped looking like a total retard. And whenever I make the gun and the body different objects, The body runs to fast for the gun so it looks as if the gun's trailing behind. Now some of you might not understand but for the ones who can, I need j00r help
I know exactly what you mean. I'm imagining you're using an "always - position blah relative to blah2" thingy, right ? i haven't tried, but maybe if you use the fastloop plugin, it might be repositioned fast enough
