this place sucks but don't tell anyone, it's our little secret, ok?
There's no filesize limit either, and you'll get more downloads from outside of the DC Community too. Sometimes it's slow, but who cares when there's no limit to your file size?
Since the topic is web hosting I may as well boast that my site ClickCell has a whole server to itself. Its a rather ugly pc next to my desk but who cares! It supports whatever I can figure out how to install on it.
PHP took me about 30 seconds to install, MySQL is another matter
Reply to Pete: You cant rename the file to zip or exe.
You can rename the zip file to .etc and then upload it, but when you'd uploaded it, you can't rename it to zip or exe again.
And Reply to CKarl: Winzip allows z files, but not the inbuilt winzip that's follows with WinXP.
Most people have WinXP. And with WinXP, you don't need winzip. Because winxp can open zip files like folders and extract them good as well. But winXP doesn't deal with z files. Some peoples doesn't install winzip if they have winxp. I've got winxp and winzip. But not everybody got both.
Well my site is www.sunfungames.50megs.com. Thats where I upload all of my website to. I upload all my games for my website at a website hosted at www.graffiti.net. So I use two hosts for one website
Solidus Snace: and what ftp client do you use? IE's built in one? ofcourse you can rename files after uploading them

That's what I did Daniel. I told everyone that when they download a game rename it from .(zip) to .zip Simple just take out the brackets. Check it out...
only problem with that is if you think about the computer illiterates out there.. a lot of them wouldnt know how to set the computer to where you view known extension types and a lot would freak out. but for a small website that mainly has a bunch of geeks like me who go to it, its not too much of a problem.
unknown types are always shown, and why would anyone have '(zip)' as a known type?
(it's not DOS compliant tho )
