Guys, does anyone have such sprites? I need them for Hack Back. They must be robots, people or aliens - but any other will be cool, too! I'm sure that there is at least 1 pixel artist who has such ones! Please, guys, share some sprites...
I have already done a sprite of main character, and some sprites for my other games. But it's too long to create a cool sprite - and I'll never release the game!
So you mean you're too lazy. If you really need graphical help, ask somebody with talent to do the graphics for you. But first, submit a game that's very cool (even if the graphics aren't too good) so that people know that YOU have talent. That's what I'm doing... in a couple of days, I'm releasing a very cool platformer. That way, perhaps somebody will actually *apply* for a "position" as the graphics guy in M.A.D. Games, or even just for one damn project. So either do it yourself, or show the public you rock and then try to find somebody to make graphics. That's the lowdown.
won't you look up at the skyline
at the mortar, block, and glass
and check out the reflections in my eyes?
you see they always used to be there
even when this all was grass
and I sang and danced about a high-rise
Then do NESsy graphics. People will go all nostalgic and you don't have to spend long on them. But make sure you use a NES palette or it aint gonna look right.
Graphics aren't all that important, as long as they're original. Two guys complaining about bad graphics is better than eight whining about rips. But if you take the time to do it right, you'll be glad you did.
These posts always end this way. Just try to do them yourself as no one will just give away sprites they have spent time doing. Its one area of making games most people find hard but if your not up to it then just take time out and learn to sprite better or just get a spriter to help.
If your game has good gameplay then surely someone will help you out.
Choob its better if you do them yourself. Even if they arn't great you get the satisfaction of knowing that its your work and any original sprites are better than ripped ones. Remember also that gameplay is more important than graphics so even if they are pretty bad, people may not care if the game is fun.
Thanks for the advices, though I didn't need them.
I have already found a person who gave me some cool sprites and going to do even more!
As for the things Paul said - I am an artist too - but I draw on paper, and I'm very very bad at animating. I know myself that I always make more stuff that I can isert into my games - so why not to give away a few frawings, which I do in minutes, if someone needs them? Maybe it's not the western people's psychology, and oly Russians got used to share the things they have, but still.....
There's a difference between giving away drawings that you do in a few minutes and giving away sprites you've spent an hour on. You wouldn't give away a drawing that you've hours on painting, would you? I give away line sketches to people on the bus, but all my good artwork is safely in a portfolio in my cupboard.
