I'm sorry to post another one of these posts, but if anybody out there needs some music for their game(s), i'm willing to help. I prefer MODs, although i can do midis as well.
(read my post called "site feature suggestion" in the DC section
I'm best at doing metal, and weird typical game music...though, if you ask, i can probably do other genres just fine
Do Eruption by Van Halen for me!...C'ARN...You know you wanna try...just pull out your guitar and trash the shit out of it...well maybe a bit more than physically possible for most people anyway...do you know how to tap?

Oh crap, i missed your post saying you'd like me to make some for ya (grazzum) ... what would you like me to make you ? and maybe you could send me what you need music for... i could dcmail an email addy to you ..
Lol it's allright, Umm anything's fine I notice you sais you do metal well, that would be great. Anything would be grand I'm sure. Hell you could send me past songs too. I'm very flexible on this topic just no Ska. Ska should die.
Yeah they're Schweet! But if you send one could it be constant, not Jumping from one tune to another? Unless it was intentional. I really like your Music, especially with the Guitar. Your Awesome at it. Anything will be good, (heh never thought I'd be licking the dirt off of someone's boots). The One before the one with the Words is The most closest to what I want, but like I said it's all good Ho shit
" Muggus > sorry, i don't know how to tap, i'm a drummer. I've taught myself the music theory i know so things like notes, i don't know.. "
Music Theory is a complex topic really. I, myself, self studied it, and then took it for a year in school. This year, I am taking AP Music Theory II, which is much more difficult.
At any rate, if you taught yourself music theory, dictation ((earplay) playing that tune he asked) wouldn't be that big of a deal. In order to pass the class, you must be able to do dictation, rythmic, harmonic, and melodic. Sounds evil, and it can be.
You have to be able to do things like:
Pick out the soprano and bass of a SATB voicing (that is, the lowest voice and the highest voice) and transcribe them
Pick out ryhtms in the upper and lower voices (same as above)
Name Chords in Chord Progression style (as in, I, IV, V, I, should that be the progression played)
Pick apart minor chords from major chords and other styles of chords (diminished augmented etc) (easy)
Do the above for 7th chords (not so easy)
Theres quite a bit more as far as dictation is involved too, so, cry cry cry.
Anyway, sorry to have such a rant, but please, you haven't taught yourself music theory until you can do this. (imo)
I've been playing guitar for 1 1/2 years now, and know shit about "music theory". Can still play the stuff though, and make my own that sounds decent.
I reckon it's better the have the practical experience than the theory stuff. You tend to get a better feel for the music and grasp. And your skills tend to develop much quicker cause you are not limited by "theory".

Actually it's the other way around. If you know theory, you can adapt it to many instruments, and thus learn to play many different instruments....and because i had been making music for 4 years, i could play drums after a couple of days (basic stuff of course, but i could play it) in a rehearsing room with a friend... if i had started from scratch when i started to play drums, i'd only get to know rhythm, and it would be a very slow process.
in other words: Music theory is a general thing that applies to all instruments, and guitar knowledge is just a small part of music theory..
I think you might have to give me something so i know what i need to create the music for you can either upload it to some webspace somewhere, or if it isn't big, just send it to a mail address i'll send you ...
Don't worry, I'm flexible I'll try and do something...if you ever publish anything that has my music in it, i'd like it if you DCmailed me or something
