Apparently Microsoft wanted to buy google.com from the makers for about $30,000,000,000 that's $30 billion for those who can’t count. The two makers of google guys said no. Microsoft are trying to take over the world of computers. They already own about 90% of it. Internet Explorer, Windows, Office, you name it.

Nothing wrong with a monopoly. Good for them, I say.

Of course you might say that having a monopoly discourages the need for the corporation to improve their system, but I dont think that's the case. After all, if there wasnt any updates in each new release of Windows, then people would stop buying it, and that means no more money for them.

I mean, everyone here chose Windows (which costs money) over Linux (which is free), didnt we?

they already OWN the world of computers. i don't see what taking over a search engine would change.

you don't get it? then they'd remake it to a system that filters out all non-microsoft-profit pages

and of course, integrate it with windows and MSN and word and explorer and excel and IE and your ass, just to make your system 3000 times slower than ever before

and btw, they only own 90% of the microsoft world, they have nothing in the NIX world (and will never get, because there's nothing to own)

(Shadow, i really have to disagree, microsoft updates after the big bang, whilst in linux, updates flow in even if almost no-one has ever heard of the bug)

You're all using Windows, just like 90% of the rest of the world. The day all of you switch to MACOS I'll concede, but I dont think that is going to happen. And do you know why? Everything supports Windows. And do you know why? Because it's better than all the other systems out there.

The reason why less bug fixes for Windows come out is because it has less bugs than Linux. Trust me, I use Linux for university both at home and at uni, and Windows crashes far less, yet I can still do more with it. You're probably going to say I use some crap distribution, but I've used both Red Hat and Makdrake quite a lot (including the current releases).

Furthermore, the reason for less Windows updates in the past was because there was no real way for a user to submit information about problems they were having (at least, not easily, there was always an option on the Microsoft website). But with Windows XP you can choose to send a bug report whenever something happens, and Microsoft will try to fix it.

Since I got Windows XP I've emailed Microsoft three times about changes I'd like to see, and in each case I got a reply within 24 hours, and in each case my suggestion was implemented or my bug report was fixed within a short period of time. If that isnt customer care, I dont know what is.

I say until everyone here switches to MACOS or Linux or some other OS then you should stop dissing Microsoft.

Keatonian: Then use a different OS, it's as simple as that.
