I think its switching back to the default animation straight away, instead try this:

Press button -> set alterable value a of active to 1
if value a of active = 1 + custom animation isnt playing -> Play custom animation
Custom animation is over -> set value a to 0

Replace value A with another value if A is inconvinient. I hope this helps

Try this: Repeat while key is pressed, insert only one action when event loops
- change animation. And repeat while key isn't pressed - restore animation sequence insert only one action when event loops. that should work.

I doubt its a bug, spiderhead, more likley to be a coding error.
Hideki, have the suggestions worked? its always good to hear it when help actually helps.

When an animation isnt looping GF cant really tell if its even running. That might be your problem.

lol- isn't a coding error the definition of a bug ??

You could try copying every frame in the animation you wanna play, so you have 2 of each pic. Then adjust the speed appropriately. I've done this sometimes if i need a really slow animation...

I had this problem or a problem similar when I upgraded to windows Xp, you couldn't change the animation speed slider when you created an active object it was stuck on 100, but I re-installed games factory and it works fine now.
