or you can drag it to an empty space of the top menubar. when there is enough space,it will be displayed there then.
you could also drag this box under this menubar so that it is horizontal. and then resize the height to whatever you need. simply pick the border. an arrow should appear then to resize it ... same when it stays vertical at the left side .

Do you mean the Project Explorer? I dont know why you'd want to get rid of it, it's a lot better to use than going back to the Storyboard all the time to change to a different frame.

i find it gets quite annoying if you're spending all your time doing one level, and you don't need to change the levels you're working on.
