Alright, here's my problem. I have an idea for a game, but I don't want to start it without working out anything that could go wrong. I came to a stop in the planning when I realized something. As far as I know, INI files are the only way to make certain variables stay active. In the game that I'm planning, it'd be a top-down RPG-ish perspective, and when you touch an enemy it brings you to a separate room where you battle. However, I want to know how to make HP and things like that stay the same even after the fight, without using INIs. Is that possible in The Games Factory? And if so, how?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

There are actual global values you can use in TGF. You get 16 of them and you can access them through the special group in the event editor.

You can also get extensions, such as the 1000 global values objects, for the same use.

You can also use the Score and Lives for players 1-4, so you get 24. The object is buggy.

Thanks. I'll use those ideas. By the way, though, where is the website that I can get the 1000 Global Values object from? I tried pluginx.com but it's down right now.

Thanks again, everyone. But Mkingy, that site shows nothing but a black screen and ebw.ca in white letters. Unless I'm missing something, that is...

i use inis for that because its easier to just save to ini all the time instead of changing the global value and thhe saving to ini later
more events = bigger filesize
