I ask this b/c I can come up with great music in my head, but I can't read music very good. I can sing very well, and wondered if there is a midi program that can actually turn the human voice into notes and put them on a scale. I thank you in advance for any info you can give me. I'd like to be able to make my own games and be responsible for everything including midi music. If not I'll just have to ask Saulesco to do it if he's not too busy.

Yeah there is a converter thing I have which is currently on my second harddrive which isn't working so I can't remember the name. But it's pretty crap cos it doesn't just turn the song into a single tune it takes all the sounds and blends them into this weird thing and it never sounds even remotely the same.

I think "anvil studio" does it. He he, Ashman's a newbie. Now I totally dis-agree with that, hey admin people, change his status to "dipshit" or something equily funny.

Copy this to your hard drive. It will be worth alot when I'm famous.

You better zip up your mouth faster than you zipped your fly when your mum caught you with that sheep, Chambers, otherwise I'm gonna introduce you to my good friend tyre iron!

PS : Yes, Anvil Studio is the one I was talking about I think but like I said it does a pretty mangled job of it.

Anvil has a button on where you can record a real sound into a digital note. I never use it though because it usually makes a note either too high or too low. I suck at making music anyways so it's probably just me.

I never heard of such program, besides I wouldn't even trust music converters if I were you. Most of these programs end up sounding anything apart from what you really wanted to hear.

If you have a decent enough music maker, you won't even need to read music at all to compose. I've never ever learnt how to read a staff, yet I'm fine at composing music. You should look toward getting a program called Cakewalk Music Creator, it does a really good job with midi-making. It's not freeware, yet it's not that expensive if I recall.

For the record, the program I use is called Cakewalk Pro Audio 9. It's great to have people in the family who were involved in the music industry indeed.
