I ask this b/c I can come up with great music in my head, but I can't read music very good. I can sing very well, and wondered if there is a midi program that can actually turn the human voice into notes and put them on a scale. I thank you in advance for any info you can give me. I'd like to be able to make my own games and be responsible for everything including midi music. If not I'll just have to ask Saulesco to do it if he's not too busy.
Yeah there is a converter thing I have which is currently on my second harddrive which isn't working so I can't remember the name. But it's pretty crap cos it doesn't just turn the song into a single tune it takes all the sounds and blends them into this weird thing and it never sounds even remotely the same.

You better do what he says... once HagarTech loses it... boy oh boy... you don't wanna be on the same tracks as that train! No way!

I think "anvil studio" does it. He he, Ashman's a newbie. Now I totally dis-agree with that, hey admin people, change his status to "dipshit" or something equily funny.
Copy this to your hard drive. It will be worth alot when I'm famous.

PS : Yes, Anvil Studio is the one I was talking about I think but like I said it does a pretty mangled job of it.

Anvil has a button on where you can record a real sound into a digital note. I never use it though because it usually makes a note either too high or too low. I suck at making music anyways so it's probably just me.
Just blame Anvil and your brain will release some endorphins!!

i didn't change your rating ash. if i had my way it would be a decrypted version of:
I never heard of such program, besides I wouldn't even trust music converters if I were you. Most of these programs end up sounding anything apart from what you really wanted to hear.
If you have a decent enough music maker, you won't even need to read music at all to compose. I've never ever learnt how to read a staff, yet I'm fine at composing music. You should look toward getting a program called Cakewalk Music Creator, it does a really good job with midi-making. It's not freeware, yet it's not that expensive if I recall.
For the record, the program I use is called Cakewalk Pro Audio 9. It's great to have people in the family who were involved in the music industry indeed.
? Whatever happened to my question? Only one person responded. I asked b/c ppl have experience here and may have come across what I'm trying to find. Please, just answer my question and not go off in these silly rants. Thanks.
Thank you Max. You have been most helpful. I saw some software by Cake Walk at Best Buy near my house. It mentioned something about using a mic, but I believe it was utilized for singing to a staff of music. I didn't want to waste my money if it didn't change my voice to notes. But, if it is a really good program then I will definitely reconsider purchasing it. Thanx.
I wouldn't. Those kinds of programs can be very tempermental. My advice is to go to www.mozart.co.uk and download the trial version of Mozart. I made a couple of bad songs in a minute, but then got better as I practiced. It's really easy, anyone can do it.
