Aaargh!!!!! My sound files are stopping short!!! Why, even when I play them in the event editor, they still stop short! When I play them in sound recorder, they don't stop short! This is driving me totally crazy! Notice my excessive use of exclamation marks? That's how crazy it's driving me! Usually I'm quite conservative with my exclamation marks ever since that accident where I used too many and changed the width of a post.
Copy this to your hard drive. It will be worth alot when I'm famous.

Nope done that. Nothing is interupting them, they're just finishing like, a half second early. You know, when you select the sound, and you push the play button to hear if that's the sound you want or not? It's cutting short there too.

Your computer is probably messed up. My old computer that Biteg now owns had a bad sound card. After I played games for a long while on it, it started to delay the sounds a lot. Especially when testing a game-in-progress: Bubba the Blob.
Maybe they didn't fully import into MMF. They might've got chopped off or something while you were doing something else. Try reimporting them. If you're desperate, you can try editing them so they seem 30 seconds longer.

You say it plays just fine in sound recorder, wich says that your sound card isnt bad, and I think its MMF problem, wich is awfully strange. Try playing some samples in another player, like winamp, it wont say much but it will still confirm your sound card status.
Another thing to try is updating your soundcard drivers.

Did I say I knew what was going on? No, I said get me a tissue, indicating I was going to cry in sympathy... it was sarcasm you twit.
I didn't say "Get me a tissue, cos I know what's wrong and I'm going to wave it around and not tell you."
... Assclown.
PS : If I knew, the last person I would help would be you.

I think he just means that you should try to see if the problem happens in things outside of MMF/TGF. Doesn't really help much, though.
Hmmm... since you're using TGF, how bout making a new frame or application and copying everything into it. It seems that MMF 1.2 had some probs with references and that's probably dragged out from TGF and KNP.
I once had some actives that kept crashing at certain times but when I transferred them to a new frame, they never troubled me again.

OK, Chambers, does it happen for completely different samples also?

I have a problem with TGF as well that is related to samples...
if you play a sample in a frame before you play a midi...the midi
won't play... and anyother midi's in other frames won't play until you make the midi play first in all the
frames...make since?
but ya...I have no clue to your problem man...sorry.
It worked for you properly before right?
"I have dreamed a dream... But now that dream is gone from me."
It's probably a TGF/Computer compability thingamabob send it to someone else and see it works for them.

Works fine for me. Have you tried the DirectSound object though? It uses DirectX 8 for playing the sounds, so it's a bit more up to date than MMFs sound engine.
