Okay, everyone who posts a game, should have hidden in the game, a "Conqueror's Code". Or if they'd rather not, they don't have to. Now here's how it works...
The game creatlor choses a code. It could be a word, a number, a word with a number or any combination of words and numbers.
If the creator wants, he can put it at the end of the game, the middle of the game, or even the start of the game. This all depends on how far he/she believes the player must go before the player has a good enough understanding of the game to judge it.
In order to type a conqueror's review, you must type the code, if the code is blank, it counts as a regular review.
If you type a conqueror's review, you get 10 times what you'd get for a regular review.
You can't type a conqueror's review twice for the same game.
Normal word limit rule applies.
Thier review would have a separate section, and the conqueror's score average would replace the regular score average.
Not every game will be Conqueror's Code Review enabled, and this can be done by leaving the code blank, instead of typing a code.

What do you think of this one? (C'mon guys, I want to be responsable for some cool improvement.)
What do you think?

Hmmm, an extravagent (SP?) idea me thinks. A little bit of overcomplicating things though...

You guys don't get it. It's an incentive for a player to finish a game. If I put a game on here, I could get a bad review from someone who's played it just a little. Now that's still allowed, but this new system, gives top prioraty to people who've finished the game. It's also a trick to get people to review my game. You see, if someone reads the code, they'll think, "Cool, I've finished the whole game! I'd better cash in on this by writing a review." It isn't fixing something, it's upgrading. Our system is okay, but the new system would be better.

most people who bother to write a review will at least bother to play the game sufficiently before they review it. most reviews here are very coherent and well written, suggesting that the reviewers are fairly intelligent. i agree, there's nothing wrong with the current system. we don't get many reviews as it is.

and also, it's not as though people make games ONLY for dc.

ok, it's not a terribly bad idea, but i doubt many people would bother putting such a code in their games or that it will affect the reviews that much.

Well the beauty of this system, is it doesn't hurt. It's just a bonus feature, that may never get used. Just as no one bothers to buy TDC merchandise. It's still there, just incase someone decides to use it. Also, if this system were in place, I would try to get the code for every game in all of DC. I may end up writing more reviews and playing more than I would normally. Just because there is now a sense of achievement in writing one. I really think this trick will get us more reviews.

Gee, I sure know I can't wait to spend hours and hours of my life to get a bunch of meaningless numbers...

Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.

For meaningless DC points, for that meaningless sense of accomplishment. You really never do meaningless things? That's what games are all about. Hey there could even be a stat for the top ten conquerors.

I think credit is due to Jon for his ideas and contributions to the forums lately!
His posts sure are better than reading 2 month old posts about "nothing important" being resurrected over and over.
It's a good idea Jon (in my opinion), but I doubt much is gonna change around here, as everyone's saying "if it aint broke don't fix it", although I disagree, I get the feeling that it's the overall attitude.

Sounds like a good idea. It'll increase the number of reviews.

It's a good idea. Maybe not as a bonus for dc points, but definetly if there was some other incentive such as a top ten. As for the code being checked, it's just a matter of another field that you fill out when submitting a game.
It would give the creater more control over precicely how for soemone has to get before they can review (I'm not saying reviews would otherwise be limited). You would also pay more attention to a review that you know hasn't been written after getting as far as the title screen.

However, I personally wouldn't spoil one of my games by sticking a word in there, out of place. I distribute my games elsewhere than just DC.
