Sounds like a good deal to me. Yes, it has one AGP slot. Where else would you put the Radeon 9200SE - 128 Mo DDR TV/o, that's not really an onboard video card.....

couldn't you fit it in a PCI slot? anyway, my magic calculator says that's £550 which is a very good deal.

PCI? Pete, catch up on the times man, AGP is built specifically for graphics cards and has much better transfer rates than a PCI. A PCI graphics card is going to be almost completely useless here in a short time. In my opinion it should have been done away with ages ago. AGP is the way to go.

just that i saw a PCI Radeon in the shop a few months ago (£20 cheaper than the AGP version)... i know they're useless but you can still get them.

Well, PCI isn't going to be replaced exclusively by AGP since AGP is only for Graphic cards (Accelerated Graphic Port)... Maybe Firewire instead?
Anyways, I too think it's quite a good deal after doing a bit of research on google and after asking on other forums. But some people told me that I should get change a few thing, like getting a better video card. Not the 9800 of course: I'm not going to throw a few extra 100$ just for a little increase of performance, but maybe the 9600... What do you think? Is there something you feel could be replaced for a minor cost change?

exactly, that's why PCI graphics cards should be done away with, I would NEVER take out the PCI slots on a computer, hell I need MORE PCI slots, I've got my modem, DVD decoder, RAID controller, Video Input Controller and now I've got a brand new DVD hardware encoder that I can't put in (Cause I'm a cheap bastard and didn't buy the decoder/encoder card) because I'm out of slots.

Basically, fast coping of drives. It's used in conjuction SCSI Hard drives usually. RAID is great when you are running a server, or have a tendancy to corrupt you hard drive (or in my case Linux when I'm coding in the Kernel - eg the main program of an OS)

Ok. And what about the system specs? Is there anything you would change?

My system? Nah it's good for now
XP3300+
512 DDR 400 Ram
40 Gig HD
10 Gig HD (Linux)
6 Gig HD (Linux Backup)
128 MB Flash Drive
GeForce 4 128 MB DDR
plus the countless peripherals I have for it.
I've already spent WAY too much money on my comp.

what's the Frontside bus speed, I'm thinking 800mhz, correct? If so you should bump the ram up to at least ddr 2700.
