going off on a tangent, using smilie faces doesn't necessarily make all that you've said OK. e.g. if i said:
"i hate you and i hope you die and rot in hell "
using the doesn't suddenly invalidate what i say and make me seem like a nice jolly person again. an interesting thing to think about, i think, espescially for people who use lots of smilies in suspect situations.

shads, IMHO, if you want to be sarcastic you should have the "confidence" to write something and not use some form of pictorial aid to show that you're being sarcastic. it's the same mentality of those who put "j/k lol!" after any potentially offensive thing they write. personally i just write the damn joke and if people don't take it as a joke, that's their problem. although i do have a slight smilie addiction in other circumstances
As we all know, fags are intended to be lit for the purpose of smoking. In addition, a sensible thing to do with a fag(g)ot is burn it. (Bundles of sticks burn better than large thick logs, if you've ever gone camping)
