Buy MMF 1.5 now. Get the super huge discount on MMF2 later.
I'm sure there'll be a huge difference between both in power and possibly interface.
Clickteam doesn't enjoy putting up release ETA dates, if you've noticed in the past where they've pushed it back and back and back, so that's why I'd suggest getting MMF 1.5 now rather than waiting it off.
Well MMF 2 is still due for release in "the first half of this year". But yeah, Im guessing that if you get MMF 1.5 from the Clickteam site AND get MMF at a later point, they'll offer you some discount.
Dont quote me on that though, cos its just a guess.
Well I can sort of confirm it... but I can't quote anyone.
I was in V-Chat and found Jeff, or one of the other guys from the team. I was looking into buying either version of MMF 1.5, but knowing how they had put up a list of features for MMF2 I wasn't sure if I should buy 1.5 in the event that MMF2 came out soon. Jeff, or who ever it was, assured me that anyone with a previous version of the software would get some form of a discount, much like going from MMF 1.2 to MMF 1.5.
Circy, I was pretty sure that MMF2 would be released in the second half... meh, better to underestimate, I guess
You WILL get a discount on MMF2 if you buy MMF1.5, there isn't much point waiting. If you have a Click product after KNP you'll also get a discount - the newer the product, the higher the discount - you just need to prove you got it (receipt etc.), or if you bought that product with Clickteam they'll look you up in their database.
My feeling is that there might not be much of a discount for TGF users upgrading to MMF2, so you might as well do it now
"what if you steal mmf? then do you get the mmf2 for cheap?"
As long as they don't know that it's stolen
DISCLAIMER: MY OPINION IS NOT NECESSARILY THAT OF CLICKTEAM NOR OF ANYONE VAGUELY RELATED TO THEM - including me
Discount of TGF to MMF was about 20%-30% last time I heard - you'll get a bigger discount for TGF Pro. The fact that you bought it from eBay shouldn't be a problem, as long as they didn't sell you a warez copy or anything like that. *wonders how you would get TGF PRO on eBay if it was a download product*
Yes after buying the CD's from Ebay and I recived them I found out there was a site which was clickteam.com. I saw that you couldn't buy ummm the "version" I got. I payed 50 american bucks for it :S oh well...
Live and learn I guess...
"I have dreamed a dream... But now that dream is gone from me."
I'd wait for MMF 2. I stole the first, but then I felt guilty and bought MMF 1.5. But still, I'm happy that I actually bought it after 1.5 was released. And I'm happier that a major company sponsored me to get it .
But since MMF 2 is gonna come out, I'm gonna have a hell of a time convincing someone to buy it for me. So, in other words, just wait.

For one thing, 95% of the "IT graduates" here couldn't code a game to save their lives. Oh, sure, they memorize every single piece of code in C, but they wouldn't know how to use it. They're like parrots, just repeating every single thing they say. As a reknowned local programmer once said, "15-year old American students know more than most of the graduates here."
So, I just offered my services to a local university to make a educational game for one of the research departments. I and my boss initially asked for a RM 1500 fee (RM 1000 for programming + 500 for graphics), which was significantly lower than what the 'professionals' would ask for. And the current edutainment pro here uses Authorware and release a full, commercial game of less quality than the average klik game. For god's sake, two-frame animations in a preschooler game?!
I got only 1/3 the wage I asked for, but I got MMF 1.5 and a brand new computer as a bonus and a contract till the end of the year.

LOL, no the uni students didn't even know how to program. And since the uni was already looking to make a low-budget edutainment game for some time, they got me. Cheap labor, true, but they don't care what program I make it in. Should've asked them for MMF Pro instead... I'll probably have to deal with the whole Fueled by Fusion thing now.
