I've got this little theory where all the best clickers have to leave the klik community, give up on it, think it's retarded, etc, at least once. It's kinda like how the best skateboarders take at least one serious fall. I dunno... maybe it's the apparent lameness of click products or maybe the harboured aggression.
Personally, I've left about 3 times, though I never really announced any cept the previous time. First time was shortly after the Click Cafe went down and there was nowhere to hang around cept #k&p and the BES forums. Second time was somewhat around the time I realised I couldn't make the game of my dreams with MMF's limited power. Third time when I had to focus my life on studying.
But eventually I came back, because I realised that although the Click Community is full of retards, they're still a hell lot smarter than most of the people I know in real life. I mean, if you even discuss politics or religion in real life, well, the opinions are extremely one-sided. At least in the community, you get a good debate.
Oh, and I still work a game about 4 hours a week lately.

12 times a day... wait, we ARE talking about mastur... nah too predictable right guys?
I've never really left. I've gotten bored with clicking a number of times, but I always bounce back. But I've never left the community.
Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.
I don't think I've ever left... because giving up TO is the last thing I'll ever do. In the more difficult coding sections of TO I've often thought of leaving after I finish TO, but really... the temptation of making cool games will keep be back
I never left because all your pathetic insults bounce off of me like... rubber... bouncing things...
"I mean, if you even discuss politics or religion in real life, well, the opinions are extremely one-sided. At least in the community, you get a good debate."
Unfortunately that's true - even in my grammar school X(
Well, that's because they were undeserving of the name 'insult'. And they bounced off of me like rubber bouncing things. I think the late Fire was the only one who did that, and maybe some guy from #K&P who floods 'STFU n00b' a lot
I left once in April 2003, and I intend to leave again by July 2004.
The fundamental difference being that in 2003, I had nothing to fill the gap with, and so much free time I just *had* to click because there was nothing better to do.
Rikus left and promised that he was "never coming back". A few people pointed out that he probably would be back one day but he said no way. A year and a half later, he is back.
99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.
Seriously, how can you leave a community? It's a friggin' website for crying out loud. You can't just type in an address and as you type www.c... the Daily Click website pops up in history, you don't just say "Nope I promised I wouldn't go back there, they'll just tease me." Ah, you faggot! You can leave Weight Watchers, put a little message in the newsletter, but you can't leave a website.
The next person who makes a "I'm leaving, because I want attention and people to feel sorry" post, I'll kic... flame them.
I can´t leave single community even for a day :\....
The week at skiing vacation were like hell without the
internet communites..
I can´t even think how hard it will be to leave in Brazil for
5 weeks at the summer :\..
And officially leaving propably means the way that the guy hype alot
that he´s going off and never coming back...
That were a fashion at finnish community-site pelisivut.org few months ago..
Most of the leavers came back..
oh..wait..Everybody who hyped that they´re going to leave came back :\
actually I once stopped talking here and checking the site only cuz people were annoying me. I think thats kinda like leaving. after that i have only been talkin a little here.

fishead has never, ever been annoying. it's the debates his games generate (which he is wholly unresponsible for) that become annoying.
there's not much point in "i'm leaving!" posts. in some cases people post them in the hope that they will be begged to stay, and in other cases people want a way of preventing themselves from returning because they know they will in the end. people who don't care just leave without a sound.
i left about a year and a bit ago and than came back about two weeks ago, and ive found out that its faded a bit, i used to have a website and everything, but i thought it was way to gay to be "kliking" and that it was just a liittlleee bit nerdy....but thats ok, im just to lazy to make games but sooner or later ill get too it...
help!, i've fallen and i cant ge....hey, nice carpet!
A.C Software, when the old community site www.iklik-it.com went down we all got scattered, it was just like if this site was to go down, but we didnt even have other sites like Click Island. I had over 800 posts on that site.
We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams...
hhaha, i used to ALWAYS check back on iklik-it than one day i type in the url and up pop the porn hahahah it was pretty funny, yea....i remember that old site...i miss it

There's another group of people; the ones who post a leaving message simply because it's common courtesy to say goodbye to friends when you want a change of scene, and because (as in my case) they know how horrid it is when someone they know leaves a community one day without so much as an email.
Just leaving quietly is more the pattern of people who don't have any friends to tell anyway, lol.
I guess since Tigerworks never left, that kinda screwed up my whole skateboard analogy. Maybe it's more like um... that suicidal/rebellious phase teenagers go through.
Strange that I've never noticed how some people leave out loud just for attention. And strangely enough, it sometimes works with some people. I mean guys like fire get little sympathy, but there are those who do... like Rikus and ShadowCaster.
Maybe I'll do a search for "leaving the community" after this, just for fun and laughs.

i stopped visiting tdc for a few weeks to finish my game. I noticed that i spent too much time online and that was making me game take way too long to finish.
