Most likely, you have all noticed the growing populatrity of Reality TV. I think its a sad, sad look into are values . Now a-days, entertainment is watching others in pain, (like in that crappy new show, Mad Mad House, in which they have to bath in blood). Also, reality tv is basicly a lie. I don't know many familes that watch their dog puke up blood (Osborns). What are your views on reality tv?

Since there is so many reality tv shows, when I watch them all I think about how this is fake. I seriously think that most of it (or all of it) is completly fake, they script the emotions, cusswords, and stuff they THINK people would say. If you think about it, is your life that interesting? Hell no, why should theres be interesting? Because its fake. DONT BELIEVE! lol

I actually like Im a Celebrity... partly because of the short amount of time its on, but stuff like Big Brother goes on for too long, hence it gets boring.
I can't believe that new shit they have over here in the UK, 'Back to Reality' on Channel 5. It's the epitome of bollocks. I absolutely hate reality TV with a passion. People that watch it can't have much of a life of their own. I just can't stress in computer characters how much I hate the abomination of reality TV.
Three channels as well as the other two, he means. We only get five channels by default over here, if we want more, we have to get cable or a satalite dish or something.
This is why Reality TV pisses me off so much, when there's only five channels to choose from, and on two at the same time is live reality TV, it fucking sucks.
I've pretty much given up watching UK terrestrial TV. There's only the odd good thing on. Now Garth Merangi's Darkplace has finished, there's not much to watch at the moment.
Reality TV is crap because thease things:
-It comes from America.
-Itīs cheap to produce, because they donīt need scripting.
-It comes from America.
-It spoils the individuality of the people.
-It comes from America.
-Itīs crap.
The Truman Show is the best reality TV (movie?) you'll ever watch. Much better than 'Celebrity DIY Doorstep Camera Hunt Reality Search Idol' and other equally pathetically-named televisual turds.

the only ones i really watch is "My big fat ubnoxious Fiance", "Survivor" and "Avergae Joe".
but i hate ones like big Brother and Idol.
I know Reailty TV is a big fake. A lot of people are complete slaves to reality tv. I just moved from England to the US, and I don't have anything agansit the United States, but there is much more reality TV over here...

I truley think that the difference between reality tv and a TV show, is that they dont edit the film to make it look all perfect (looks homemade) and they dont cut from scene to scene very well (more homemade) plus the camera guy purposly breathing heavy in the microphone and bobbing it up and down like a tard. lol

ummm no. for the following reasons:
The Office, One Foot in the Grave, Blackadder, Peter Kay, Only Fools and Horses, Spooks, Father Ted, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, and there must be a load more i've missed out.
the only yank TV worth watching is 24, and Band of Brothers (shot entirely on location in England) so, in summary, i beg to differ.
I love heaps of American and British shows about the only countries shows I can't stand are from my own, Australia. God, we churn out some crap!!!

The band of brothers were also my favourite..
That time america was good and not ruled by

And there are of course some american movies
which i like.
(like terminator, full metal jacket, platoon, etc..)
Mostly i watch finnish programs and sometimes british
comedys..
American comedy is so bad that nobody would seriosly laugh at it...
I've never enjoyed Reality TV. There are two types - the Big Brother type where it's more a storyline/soap with real people... Come to think of it, I don't mind those that much, although it's not what I would watch... but recently there's been a trend for "torture" shows, which I think also come under that heading - Fear Factor, I'm A Celebrity... things like that. It's hideous, what they make some people go through. A mystery that they agree to it.
Man anime gets on my nerves, HALF the show is just staring at a character stare into the wind or at sombody.... 0_0 ..... *wind blows* ..... 0_0 .... . *deep music* .. ..... "You know.. ryakianochikaklukaiate said there would be ninjas coming today..." TO BE CONTINUED! Episode 583!

Hey, some of the reality shows on MTV and Discovery Channel, like Flipped, Faking It, Junkyard Wars (if you consider that RT) and Punk'd are pretty damn good.
The rest is just evil crap. I'm suprised those dating shows are as famous as they are.

Reality TV is basically what entertainment has essentially evolved to by essentially showing regular shmucks what they'd like to see...ie...people like themselves on Tv...and of course, your sex, drama and action.
I think this eventually came along because alot of television shows, particularly sit-coms and dramas, played out situations that may have tried to mimic life, yet so artificial because it was played by actors...SOMEHOW reality TV is almost the opposite of this...ie unrealistic environments, desert islands, paradises, prison like households, with what seem to be regular everyday people as the actors...
...although that's still not it yet...and this is what confuses me most of all...alot of reality tv shows are just basically souped up game shows or documentaries!!!
Anyway...there have been some cool reality TV shows i've seen in my time...I remember one we had over here in Australia called the Mole. That was probably the pick of the bunch, cause it kept not only the contestants but the viewers guessing until the end.

Ah, yes, the Mole. That was a great one. The only RTV show I watched till the end. Too bad they didn't show any new seasons here, I guess Malaysians prefer simple sentimental crap like Survivor to it.

Anyone seen a show called Oblivious?
I don't mind this show. Basically they have this dood, who is like the host of the show, who has fake jobs like a waiter or sales assistant, and he basically talks to customers and asks them 5 random questions whilst talking to them.
For every question they get right, they get like $20, but they're not aware they're even playing the game until he's asked all of the question and tells them they're on tv and playing a game show they're not even aware they were playing.
It's a pretty cool concept I reckon.
