I didn't see anything about hentai... though I saw a banner for it at the bottom... But you got to do whatever you can to get your work put out and mentioned, right? Well, if you're trying to put out a portfolio for an art college to see. The site's really cluttered, though.

The link I added here was to a site that is, at MOST, PG rated...there is NOTHING adult there WHATSOEVER...there IS a LINK to my adult artwork site (yes, I do adult toon work...Oooooh, SCARY!!!), but thats IT.
If you feel a need to sanitize the world and censor everything around you, feel free to remove the link...but I am at a LOSS as to what the hell you are all complaining about, considering the foul language and four letter words that I see on this site on a regular basis.

there's nothing adult on that site, people, despite the "pinup girls" premise. although you really need to clean up the site layout a bit.
Ive heard this from time to time, but I honestly 'dont get it'...the site layout seems VERY simplistic to me...menu on the left, news on the right...whats so confusing?
First, you have a huge banner, takes up half the screen.
THEN you have another banner that says what's on your site, which takes up about another 15% of the screen.
Then you have some text... some little pictures... some banners... some more text and pictures...
So about a page and a half down you finally have your menu. That's to the left. To the right you have a bunch of more different links, which I can't tell what they're supposed to be for. That continues for about two pages of random unorganized clutter. Then after the menu you have nothing really important... just some more random banners and ads to different sites that you seem to enjoy going to. Let's see.. Bush... comics... store... banners, banners, banners, email me, banners, ads, lots of ads, then PORN link at the bottom.
In my opinion, you should put the menu immediately where everyone can see it when the page loads up. Check my site out at www.geocities.com/chamzel

yeah, what chamzel says, you've got some elementary design problems there:
- menu should be immediately accesible
- menu is too big and obscures rest of content
- bits and bobs at the top and bottom of the page seemingly distributed at random, with no header to introduce them
some suggestions:
- organize the page with clear headers and subsections
- make the menu smaller
- make the page FILL the screen on 1024*768. with some designs this isn't desirable but i think it would work fine with yours.
- your front page contains too much information. no one is likely to read all of that in one go. consider using seperate pages instead.
- i appreciate you're an artist and probably created the site with an artistic streak but the whole luminous pink/lime green affair with the fonts is not gentle on the eyes. it should be a softer colour like white or light blue.

oh btw (to everyone), anyone can click a few random links on the internet and come up with porn. just because linking to this website makes said porn a few clicks closer doesn't mean it should be deleted that's like saying we should delete links to google and yahoo, as they provide a portal to porn.

I can't give you sales statistics over that, but you can bet that who ever makes the hentai cartoony drawings make good money if they have good quality art and put up the right ads.

I took the wise advice of a few folks here, and SERIOUSLY tightened up the design/look/navigation of my site...lost about 60% of the 'clutter' that was there...let me know if the newer, more streamlined look works better for you...and THANKS for the input...
