Dude a comic book about cobain was what pushed him over the edge, don't support it. I did a post like this. Me and my friends had a minute silence at 2 o 'clock.

If you want a good comic book, get watchmen by allen moore.

"He shot himself because he was a dumb coked out heroine addict druggy. Why do we have to remember that?"

He was also one of the most respected musical artists of his time. Kurt obviously means nothing to you, which is fine, but don't waste our time by posting in this thread just to tell us that you don't give a living hell. Take your lack of respect elsewhere.

Obviously you have no class JP... Kurt Cobain thought he was dumb... or maybe just happy.

R.I.P. Kurt. What's everyones favourite Nirvana song btw? Mine would be either Heart Shaped Box, Come as you are or Pennyroyal Tea.

Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,

The Rwandan genocide, yes, of course it was a tragedy... But we're not discussing that here, in fact it has no relevance to this posts topic at all.

The post was started by a Nirvana fan for the few Nirvana fans here at TDC who appreciate the genius of Cobain to come along and 'discuss' the death of a genius.

There is no debate about which is the greater tragedy here (the genocide obviously), however, if you felt that strongly about it, wouldn't you have made a 'Let's mourn those who died in the Rwandan genocide' post instead of bringing it up in a totally unrelated post?

Oh, and one more thing... Dustin... Silence, child.

Oh and before you say anything, us Nirvana fans are "over" the death of cobain, so get over the fact that we've gotten over it.

it just helps to put this in perspective. it's quite saddening that we can have a post about the death of one man, yet let the deaths of thousands of innocent people pass unnoticed. it doesn't matter that you find it unrelated, nova, just stop being narrow minded and look at the bigger picture.

I can see where you're coming from, but that is entirely different. Smoking is just as stupid as taking drugs. Also, he didnt die of a overdose or cancer, he blew a hole in his head with a gun.

My apology still stands, but I dont ever have respect for druggy hobos on the street, why should I have more respect for a druggy musician that made good music?

And I'm sorry in advance if anyone is going to flame me again.

talking about genocide here is a bit off topic.
just make a new topic about africans, the holocaust, pol pot or elvis if you wanna talk about that. I myself don't care that much about Nirvana, my music hero is still alive. I used to listen to it alot tho when I was younger.

drug addiction is stupid indeed, tho some of my friends are pretty addicted.

I liked Nirvana, but I wouldnt call myself a diehard fan. I see nothing wrong with the fans of a popular musician mourning an anniversary.

I dont think it is any lack of respect to other deaths, its just a special place for people who were touched by a muscian to discuss why they liked them so much. I remember when musician Elliot Smith committed suicide last year and I was really sad.

I think its narrow minded of people to suggest that the mourners of one person are being selfish by not mourning every death. Pete, I dont see why Nova should look at the bigger picture, we arent discussing death in general, just the passing away of a much respected musician. But I sort of agree about the death statistic thing, that is if I happened to really dislike Kurt Cobain, which I dont. Although you can still show respect for one death and many others at the same time.

Most of what Ive said isnt really anything new, but I think its kind of weird of people to be flaming over a topic like this. Are we all that keen on arguing?

Id say 'Rest In Peace', but Im not sure what that actually means.
