Okay, this is probably a real simple question. If my game has a certain extension, and the player either doesn't have TGF, or has TGF and doesn't have the extension, what do I do with it?

You build your game into a stand-alone exe so they can play it.

If you turn it into an EXE file the extension is built into the EXE file. Same goes with screensavers. If the player has TGF but doesn't have the extension and wants to look at the source code, he has to download the extension.

Edit: I posted it the same time as Kramy

if they have no TGF they also need CNCS32.DLL or CNCS16.DLL depending upon what version you got

you also need a bass.dll in the game folder if you use certain sound extensions
eg: dmc2.gox
