Yeah, this is what Zelda fans have been waiting for, a more "mature" Zelda game.
Well, I loved Wind Waker, I liked the cute cel-shading. But this is probably going to appeal a bit more to "grown up" people. Or something.
I liked both the graphic styles.
The different graphic style in Wind Waker was a great break to let them do some comic things that you wouldn't usually find in a Zelda game (e.g the moblins dancing in pain after being slashed in the butt, the dancing ghosts, the giant bird flying into a wall etc.).
wind waker was the first zelda game ive bought and i must say it got a little boring.
And i havent played the ocarina of time that came with it although i took a quick look to see if the game worked and it still runs a 25fps which i didnt like much.
"I dont have a NGC or played WindWaker, (which looked a joke )"
Wind Waker is enough of a reason to go out and buy a GameCube!.
the Cel-Shading technique actually ended out quite stunning, if Windwaker wasnt Cel-shaded it wouldnt have turned out as good. also the cel-shading gave it this classic zelda feel.
anyway back on topic, the game does look great, kinda reminds me of OOT, ill definetly be getting this when it comes out!
I love wind waker, and it's graphics suited it well. But this new Zelda looks FREAKING AWESOME!!!! I so badly want it. Looks like the brilliant Ocarina, which I never finished. It has EPONA!! EPONA DAMNIT!!!! HOW AWESOME!!! And the original Link. AND HYRULE!!!!!
Sorry, I just dont like the gamecube, not because of the console, but because of the games, the gfx are too childish, ha look at mario and zelda! (Hey I know thats not all the NGC does, I just prefer the ps2 [I'm not trying to take the piss ] )
have you guys even looked at the screenshots? this new Zelda is similar to Final the Fantasy style art (as-real-as-your-gonna-get-manga-but-still-its-obviously-not-real or ASAYGGMBSIONR as i like to call it )
That's the link to the video. The sword-play is similar to that of Wind Waker, but with real awesome graphics, and once again, smooth framerates. If you haven't seen this, watch it now!

Finishing Up Game Engine
Anyone who says gamecube is bad because it is childish is a very immature gamer, as Jay and I have stated in other topics. Games are not their themes or stories, games are their gameplay. If you think gamecube games are for kids you are very immature.
I really liked the style in Wind Waker. Call it childish or whatever if you really must, but it made the game more different and interesting to watch. The new style also looks great, although I want to hear more about the new gameplay mechanics than the graphics.
exactly whats the point if all games are the same? hell if your calling stuff like windwaker immature take a look in the mirror! your clicking mouse buttons, playing with analogue sticks infront of a screen pretending to be a soldier or James Bond... i think theres a point in there somewhere
Looks pretty crazy, the environments are done very well. THe fightings ok, link sems to cut through the guys like butter, no effort like a god, But not bad. And consoles aren't really childish, just another form of entertainment like TV.
Just downloaded the Zelda trailer off nintendo.com (stupid IGN wont let me ) the trailer got to a point were it just froze, luckily with the help of good old MMF i made a little app that skips that freezing point. It looks so so so so awesome, if you havent seen it download the trailer already, defintly going to be a huge hit.
Regardless of how kiddy the graphics look, I've never faught a boss that looked better than the lava-worm-bone-crab think in Wind Waker.
I've been waiting for this since the 2000 trailer. Apparently they've been working on this (to a greater or lesser degree) all this time in secret. I've got the 17mb one with the 'official' music, but the version with the song by Basil Poledouris is just orgasmic.
i heard they spent a long time on this too. this is just theory but it looks like Ganon has his hands on the triforce, or that its no longer in Hyrule. The story to Link to the Past began with them talking about the land decending into darkness if the triforce vanishes. or something like that at least.
so they have Mario 128 with the top secret new gameplay which has never been seen before, and is supposed to be very damn good. Metroid Prime 2, and this new Zelda. it looks to me like 2005 is going to be a very good year indeed
Who is the more mature - somebody who refuses to play games with 'kiddy' graphics because their ego can't take it, or somebody who will play a great game no matter what age-group the graphics are designed to appeal to? The fact is, nintendo makes great games, and anybody that tells you otherwise is either a twat or a liar.
The new Zelda looks awesome. I liked Wind Waker, but this is really the one I always wanted them to make.
The new Metroid, on the other hand, doesn't look too different to the old, besides the 4-player mode. I haven't even finished the first one yet - It was a good enough game, but the constant backtracking just didn't do it for me.
All arguments aside i think that the new Zelda is gonna rip shit on some of the upcoming games, that trailer made me drool, it made me drool so much i ordered the Zelda collectors disc off e-bay .
and yeh i agree with you Heremu, Metroid looks basically the same except different enemies and Multiplayer but if its anything like Metroid Prime its sure to be a good game.(i too havent finished Metroid Prime , i just got out of the Phazon mines then)
Nintendo games are brilliant. Very inspired, very fun, and if you refuse to play them, it's your loss. Nobody said games had to be realistic (except when they're called Pilotwings)
OMYGOD OMYGOD!!!!!!
NEW ZELDA!
AAARRARRArararraarSARSARARARARRRRRRRAARARRR!
Ocarina of time is the BEST GAME EVER. NO DOUBT. I honestly can't tell you why. I'm a PC Gamer, I love adult mature shooters, but to me this is bigger than Half Life 2. And it looks awesome! Tell me this isn't all a big scam?
Why the hell am I on the computer at 1 in the morning? No, don't answer.
