Haha, kidding. Nice picture - the lighting's consistent and the clothes crease properly, although it looks a little strange having such a distinct and dark shadow against such a bright background.

Yeah correct I did her in flash. It's the only vector program I have.
I once tried Illustrator but I was too stupid for it and it totally confused me. I don’t know if you ever tried it. In flash you can draw but you don’t have pixels-everything is vector. In Illustrator you have to transform some shapes. You can’t draw a ball with a line and fill that shape. So you have to draw the outline of a ball and under that layer you have to transform a shape so that it looks like your ball is filled or something like that. That’s really stupid in my opinion and sadly that is really the way Illustrator goes.

Nell looks so much better with coloured outlines. In the first version of her she had black outlines. Now when you change the outline colour you can see that the lines are overlapping which doesn’t look really nice. Since you don’t zoom in or take a closer look you won’t notice that very ugly effect.
When I draw a line with the line tool and I draw a second line over that other line the just drawn line gets UNDER the older line. Why? That’s so stupid.
One example: I draw the linework (black outline) for some character then I draw some parts with a green line where the shading goes. Then I fill the areas and delete the green lines and everything looks good in flash. I go to test movie and I suddenly see some green lines at my character. When I go back to flash I can’t see those green lines but when I test the movie I see them. SO I have to delete my black lines again to get the green lines which I can delete then as well. That’s so annoying.
Well it’s Nell from Advance Wars. That’s why the topic title is “Nell”. I thought you guys know her. So when people complain about her chin or breast I think they are wrong. I mean she is a character from a Nintendo video game. I don’t think Nintendo creates wrong looking characters. It I think I created a good vector version of her.
Nell is my favourite female video game character. She is so lovely, isn’t she? I like her a lot and Advance Wars wouldn’t be so much fun if there was no Nell.
So you could call that picture fan art if you want.
