thats the question
someone told me to use this object that comes with bonus pack 2 on my game (everlastia), instead of my own engine.
so, is it really good? or should someone stay with your own engine?

Depends if your engine is any good. If your engine is good/fits the game then I recommend sticking with it.
If your engine isn't any good, or if you are using the default platform movement, then use the platform movement extension for sure.
A bit of insanity with every bite!

PMO is great. It can be used by itself or as a base of your own custom engine. It's also really simple to use.

Alot of people didn't realise that I made my platform engine for the Superfrog clone using the PMO. Check my profile and you can see.

well the only and one problem i have with my engine is that moving platforms on the Y axis doesnt work as i want it to. the player doesnt follow the platform when its goigng down.
everything else works perfectly, not in the beta in my profile, but the one that is here now that is much better.

At the moment I'm using the Advanced Movement Object for a custom platform movement, and it's working very well - you can produce something very similar to the original platform engine but without the wall and ceiling-sticking, slowing down when you hit the ground, and so on.
I can't use the PMO because I've gone and lost my MMF serial code, so I'm stuck using a demo of MMF1.5.

Well, a custom engine would provide more flexibility.

If you want to go into programming, you might want to make your own from scratch, since you'll learn how it works instead of relying on an extension.
