The speaker does look a bit like it's made entirely of plastic

Anyway, pretty cool.

nice bits of work there, but the front panel of the cube is curved and theres a line that runs horizontally just near the bottom. and the sticky feet look a little short. but still

Thnx, I had a hard time curving the front piece because for some reasion it wouldnt let me add more pollygons into the square. If it would have let me add more pollygones into the front, it would have been cerved. I'm thinking of later, working on the controller. (UH OH!)

If I where to subdevide it, the thing would turn into a circle.

No it wouldn't. If you were to Mesh-smooth it it would turn into a circle, subdividing just lets you split polygons into more polygons where you choose, alowing you to control where the details are, and you pretty much have to do that when making decent models of characters and stuff.

I dont know what you using, but thats probley 1 of the few bad things about Anim8or, subdevide things like squares without being carfull exactly how you do so, it actually does turn into a ball. A deformed ball, but a ball just the same. I tried bending the sides of it because I did notice that detail, but it was too late by time I noticed my mistake.

Stop using anim8or it stinks...

Get TrueSpace 3.2 by caligari, its good legal and free, you have to register though (its old but miles better than anim8or).

Sub-divide in Anim8or only makes it smoother if you leave the tension as 0.0. A value of 1 will just spilt the polygons.

Heres one i made earlier using TrueSpace - (you can subdivide, lathe, extrude, bevel and all the usuals, and use metaballs - a cheap subsitute for nurbs).

Its a piece of concept art for riot 3:

I have been using TrueSpace since i got it free off Planet PC .

Truespace is probably the best free 3D modeller you can get legally.

here's a cool 3D image I made in Max http://www.sitesled.com/members/amnesiasoft/images/3D_glass.png

I have one with better water lying around but haven't gotten around to shrinking it for the web.

You might want to try either some bump mapping or re-model part of the GC front because the memory card slots and controller port are odd looking.

Zim...turn on antialiasing I fear antialiasing now, that glass took 1hr and 10 mins to render
