I was wondering if anybody knows of a program that acts as a firewall towards the registry database ? with this i mean, a program that can allow/block specific programs from reading/writing to the reg.db. Also, might this be possible in mmf ?

I know a program called RegMon which will report all registry activity, but I'm not sure if you can block it - maybe you can from C++. A lot of programs simply won't work if they can't write to the registry. Why do you want to block app access to the registry?

Spybot-Search and Destroy and Spyware Destroyer are able to protect the regestry, you can also toggle to accept or deny changes from any program that tries to create entries. You can also download a program called Cr@p cleaner that cleans out any old and unused values in the regestry.
