How can you move a counter/life bar in a game. I want to make a top-down shooter w/ 4 people you can control, but I cant seem to make the life bar move with them. Same thing with the enemies.
well u can only do it in mmf and have always counter position equal to 0,10 of player and it will be above em
or u can make ur own counter by just making an active object with some cool animations and have that counter always be over the player and have at every alterate value set to specific direction which shows that its like 30 health.
Its not enough,I need more
Not enough to satisify
I said I dont want it, I just need it.
To believe, to feel, to know I'm alive.
Knuckle deep beneath the borderlines.
This may hurt a little but its something you'll get used to.
Relax. Slip Away...
Thank you. I tried it out and it worked perfectly. Also FYI if somebody is interested in doing the same thing, I made it different health bar animation a different direction per damage and each the "thing" is harmed, subtract x amount from the counter's animation.
Yeah, pre-MMF you cant set the absolute position of counters, if I remember correctly, so you would be better off with an active object if you are indeed using KNP/TGF/CNC.
You can in TGF/CNC move counters relative to the window, so if you wanted to have all four life bars in a column, say, at the upper-right of the screen you could accomplish that quite easily in the counter object properties.
