You know i thought it was impossible to change the x and y coordinate of a counter in run-time with the games factory. The only options are to set to, add or subtract.

however the recent game 'Gravitroid' appears to show damage as a number yet it follows the ships around!?

how the heck did the maker do this?

maybe he used a animation to set when a sertant event is happening, to make it look like its being moved.

It's possible to make a counter of active objects. I tried it once. Was a lot of coding, but it worked. Maybe that's how the creator did that?

Never mind, just played the game. Don't think he used active objects. Must've used strings or something.

Firstly, MMF allows you to move counter objects, and secondly I haven't played the game but unticking "follow the frame" should make the counter follow the screen as you scroll.

This hinges apon what Gravitroid was made in; if it's MMF, and AndyUK uses TGF, that might explain why he's asking. If it's not a bunch of actives then it's almost definitely MMF.

The point I was trying to make was maybe Gravitroid was made in MMF. Then I checked, and it wasn't, so sorry for the lack of research in the response, but I have other things to do, like make Terminal Orbit.

Anyways, in Gravitroid it looks like a string object. Str$() and so on.

I was away most of the week, but yeah, I used edit boxes.
I can't really recommend it because edit boxes are a little unstable, but it works.
