I recently set up a home based webserver with an extra computer I had. So anybody that wants lots-o-MBs, unlimited bandwidth, and if you need it, top quality web design, e-mail me at wes@wesrichardsmusic.com.
I know html, xhtml, vbscript/javascript, perl/cgi, css, and can offer logo and graphic design also.

well imagine 20 people are downloading from you at once. They'll all get 5kb/s max. They won't be happy about that
"Say you're hanging from a huge cliff at the top of mt. everest and a guy comes along and says he'll save you, and proceeds to throw religious pamphlets at you while simultaniously giving a sermon." - Dustin G
People make games around here, is that what those little MBs are. Since I'm not running The Daily Click, I am not worried about 20 people downloading at the same. My server is running html, cgi, and ssl. The only big files I have are my audio samples. I am just some guy that set up a home based server, not superfastwebhostwithmorethataklikprogrammerwilleverneed.com
Anyhow, I have been downloadind my 30 second audio samples (.5 MB ea.) in a little over 3 seconds. I just ran to some test speed website when you asked me Tigerworks, and it said 40 KB/s, but correct me if I am wrong, isn't a .5 MB file downloaded in 3 seconds mean I have 167 KB/s?
Did you run that test on the server itself? Because then you have the slight advantage of a hard disk drive, which can transfer at a rate of megabytes per second (in which case 3 sec for 0.5mb is actually pretty crap). What's your connection download speed? By my calculation, if you can upload 167kb/sec, then you must be able to download something like 2mb in 3 seconds off the internet. That's pretty damn fast.
Damn, wow, thanks for clearing that up Pete. I am such an idiot, I'm so stupid. And this guy Pete, so smart. I mean after all, look at how funny the guys website is, now thats some humour.

well, forgive me if i seem patronizing! on that note i'll inform you that saying "My server runs HTML" makes no sense at all. your server uses the HTTP protocol, but it doesn't "run" HTML because HTML doesn't need to be "run", it just needs to be sent to the client so that it can be interpreted by their browser.
by the way your site loads up painfully slowly, and your "web design" section wouldn't win my custom... maybe you should start by making it mozilla compatible? notices like "best viewed at 1024*768 with internet explorer" aren't exactly endearing.
No offence guys but thats so intelligent and witty.
Before you start criticising me, i do know about his upload speed (like when CB called me an idiot for doing trig calculations in TGF in the set position function, i should do them alterable values to get floating point numbers... Hmm Ok..). You pay peanuts you get monkeys thats all i say.
And 5 kb/s (if theres 8 dl'rs) is probably better than something like websamba...
Indeed, but at least other free web hosts have consistency in their upload speed I don't understand what you were referring to there, I said use AVs instead of counters. There was no mention of anything else.
open <a href="ftp://test:test@24.22.187.100:8645/">ftp://test:test@24.22.187.100:8645/</a> in internet explorer andsee if anything comes up at all...still waiting for almost a minute now...
As a boy, I wanted to be a train. I didn’t realize this was unusual—that other kids played with trains, not as them.
