Shroomlock aka Gigas has added his multiplayer online (with a single player option) Flannville 2 and it's got tons of improvements over the first. The download weighs in at 17mb, but it's worth it. That said, I'm going to play; give it a shot.
The main server goes down sometimes like any other for misc reasons. Its been on very faithfully so far however until this morning. Give it an hour or so if it seems to not be working.
The standalone will work as long as you select the option of playing on your other server, enter the IP address that the server shows, and then connect.
If you still can't connect to anything, then you have a program running that is preventing a connection.
