Updates have been pretty sporadic since the end of last week (well, there have been none of them) but a few games of interest have been released...
First of all there's a very technically impressive game from Paul J - Downtime came second in the TDC Christmas competition a couple of years ago. It boasts a pseudo-3D view as well as the possibility to customise it using the extensive track editor.
Comments from the Author:
DownTime is not a comment on any specific websites I might happen to visit, but rather a bobsleigh simulator. Either pick an inbuilt track or create your own with the super-spiffy track editor and hurtle down it at several hundred miles an hour with only a crash helmet and a high-tech teatray between you and an icy death.

Secondly, there's a sort of fangame of fangames - Metroid: Ripped Worlds is a Metroid-styled platform game in which you travel through various classic game worlds. It was put together by Shroomlock.
Comments from the Author:
In the vast sea of emulation and old video games, a certain video game villain has become self aware in an unknown emulated game ROM. In an attempt to escape his prison, he has hacked into the game roms and built an empire using enemies and powers from only the most well known games! Only one game sprite has been unaffected by this game hacking villain - Samus Aran!

There were Sonic graphics in the last game's screenshots, so here are some Mario ones to restore balance to the force - Mario Adventure is apparently a more "tactical" fangame than most, and was written by the unusually punctuated Agent.X.
Comments from the Author:
It is a bit different from other Mario games, since this one is much more tactical. You can pick up random items from the floor and use them to get further into the level or to eliminate enemies.

Finally, kevin karstens has put up a fangame for the TV series Red Dwarf called Starbug Starblast. I found it quite entertaining, but it might just have been because of the included audio clips from the programme. See for yourself.
Comments from the Author:
Based on the classic BBC comedy, you pilot STARBUG in an attempt to blast as many oncoming asteroids as possible. If you succeed, a rare stash of curry awaits Lister on the other side!

By the way, yesterday I finished all my computer science exams for the year and I now have four months off. I just thought I'd mention it.
