Ive just updated the picture a little. I did one with black outline where there was a outline, but it didnt gave a great balance.
Then i did this one.. not sure which one of them there were the best. But here it is
I played around with a splash screen.. take a look:
"press enter to continue" looks like it might be in the way a bit.ruins a good pic.
the game logo might stand out and look better when its in full colour, but i don't know if you already tried that.
Also, more clouds wouldn't hurt use a um..5 pixel sized brush with about 25-50% transparency that's white coloured. by the way, awesome icebergsComment edited by oko on 3/25/2009 Comment edited by oko on 3/25/2009 Comment edited by oko on 3/25/2009
Try adding bits of the game into the title screen so it's somewhat relevant. Like add a few towers on the Earth or something.
you should make "Press enter to continue" more blended. Maybe for a cool little feature, every few seconds, shooting stars could come from space...It easy just do:
-Create meteor at (position) with direction (southwest) and have it as bouncing ball...
-Every 2 milliseconds: create "trail" relative to meteor
(Trail) will have a animation...Just a yellow square that gets smaller each frame (longer animation= longer trail) and set it's semi-transparency to 40
When animation trail finished? Destroy trail...
That will make a cool effect. If you want to see an example, look at my "The Last War" project and watch that video. The effect will somewhat look like the rocket trail.
Man, this is why i love this site!
I really apreciate your activity in my project, and I promise i will do something about those things. And great ideas btw
Anyways, i did that picture because I was a little lazy with the coding part, so I i did that one... Anyways what im trying to say is that I want to have the core gamecode in place atfirst before i move on to the more 'playing around' part... So probably the meteor will come at later times.
