Solar defender is sorta like missle command. In Space. But not really because the only similarties are that there are 2 turrets on the bottom of the screen, used to shoot things coming down.
So now that that's cleared up I'll tell you about the game. Aliens are coming down, and you need to shoot them with 2 turrets on the bottom. There are 6 kinds of ufo's: yellow, blue, green, red, black, and white. Black ufos carry special weapons that you get if you shoot them. The white ufo is basically a massive mothership. (The ufos kamikazi into the solar panels you are trying to protect, they don't shoot.)
There are many special weapons, like nukes and missles and sheilds (which isn't really a weapon.) I am currently working on a ranking system and a unlocking system. There will be unlockable modes, music, and skins depending on your rank and stats. That basically sums it up for now.

Just an update to let you know that this project is not dead, and I hope to start work again after the compo. I have been busy with some other projects and teh compo for a while so that's why no real progress has been made for a while.
I've gotten a lot done in the last week or so. I have made it so UFO's generate more as you go along, and made it so you can shorten your reloading time and increase your bullet packs. Also I got the EPIC mothership explosion done, changed all my sound effects, and added some verbal messages, like "special weapon ready"!
I have made a new store so now you have to reload and have spaces for some "add-ons", which are basically special powerups you can buy in the store. Still working on the graphics of the store so I haven't gotten to the programming yet, but It shouldn't take to long. And I have also made major changes to the sounds!
