A short, sweet little platform game (seems like that's all I can ever finish!). Here is some intro fluff:
"A lone hero wanders the barren wastes of his planet. Long ago there were others like him, but they simply vanished one day, gone without a trace. Now, alone with his trusty Spear, he is reduced to hunting like a carrion bird.
His travels bring him to an unfamiliar place of steel and technology. Here he will find all the answers, and here he will be tested beyond his limits."
So, you are a guy with a spear. You arrive in a strange, robotic place, and must explore and fight your way through. You will obtain abilities to use, all centered around your spear - that's right, you will use it for more than just stabbing robots until they explode!
Expected release date - 2nd-5th June! Not long, folks A little longer, perhaps... having some problems!

Something just isn't going right! And I'm not sure if it's because the way the game works is flawed or I know the game too well. I'm getting to where I've planned as half way through the game in less than 10 minutes, and it's extremely easy. Too many enemies on screen just lags the game, and most of the time you can just run right past them. I try countering this with small tunnels, and a lot of the time they just spawn behind you! When they do spawn in front, it's a good challenge, however some enemies have directional armour that makes it almost impossible to get through. So the game is fluctuating between embarassingly easy and unfairly difficult.
I fear my time may have been wasted on the level structure so far, since it's turning out very linear again. This is hurting the random spawning in that running past means you'll never see them again EVER. I need the whole level as some giant open place where you're constantly crossing over places you've been before.
In short - could I get some testers? I'm in need of a second, third, and possibly fourth opinion.
For those that are interested and aren't bothered about finding out stuff, here is a (really really really short) video showing the abilities you get. It also has part of the main theme music of the game, kinda cheesy old-school sci-fi.
Oh, and any name suggestions? Pike Warrior was only meant to be a temporary title.
It's not much, but I don't have any actual levels/sections done... just lost what I had in a little crash. I'm not too bummed about it, because it wasn't very good, anyway! Too linear. I'm going for a much more open world this time.
Also, I don't want to show too much before releasing it. The less you know, the more fun it will be to explore.
