New new background

What do you think of my new background?!

NIck helped me by using photoshop to vamp up the background!

Working on the engine and the actual level now as ive drawn all the peices of land! PLus ive changed the tiles for the rocks slighlty so they dont look rubbish against the background!

Hey everyone. I feel like ive improved with my drawing since the last time i did peko and considering his old home was a blue dome with a leafy top i think ive done alot better! Hes moved home to a nice new tree trunk!!

Ive also drawn the life and bullet bar which is pretty simple but i think i want it to be simple as itl look much better and cleaner!

Ive had a problem with trying to draw my own backgrounds and Im not sure whether to go for simplistic or try and do soemthing elaborate.

This is the background ive currently drawn, its really simple but i will actually leave it this way:

And finally, I was trying to draw an elaborate waterfall for the menu screen and Don Luciano just drew this which was from a picture i had started but failed at!

Preview

Hey everyone, Ive not been around for AGES had lots of problems with my old laptop and lost all of the game apart from a few bits of the newer art. So once again im redoing it. BUt im positive this time my skills may have improved a bit!

So far ive not started the engine! because il need help with it and i've just got back into the art part of the game. Ive redesigned Peko (who is now wearing clothes ) and also the tiles. Last time i didnt really do them 32X32 tiles and it was really annoying! so this time i have. And im hoping itl work out a bit better!

Lol i offically suck at pixel art but its fine i dont really care il just do my best. im trying to make the tiles more interesting to look at and not so boring so heres a picture of the floating platforms:

Heres a picture of the attempt of making the walls cave like lol :S :

And heres Peko in 2 sizes. the smallest is the orginal, experimenting with sizing is the larger one. He needs to be way bigger than the smallest i like the size of the bigger one but im not sure il be able to create a running peko lol im just a bit rubbish at it at the moment so i was thinking i if i used the sizing of the small one to make the running figure then upsize it the same way as the larger one it may work out lol:

I went back over the larger one to fix up some of the patches but i cant exactly say i did all the colour blending myself because of the blurring lol

Meh early days i havent done anything game related since december! So im getting into it again. I know peko isnt exactly pixel art because upsizing it makes the colours blend in but i dont know how to do it better :S
