Project Overview
Preview Why am I doing this?
Right now I am in the final year of the art academy in Rotterdam to get my teaching degree in art. One of the things I have to do (with a group of 5) is make a digital product for use in art lessons. Being the only one in the building who kind of knows what a computer is I plan to totally overdo this (and after that I will carry on with Fishhead 4).

What is it?
This is a virtual, 3-dimensional art museum. Students will walk around in the museum, visit rooms of certain era's and even go back in time to help (art) history evolve. The main goal of the product is to make students aware of causes and effects, art as the product of the times and choices of human beings. A second goal is to give students a general overview of the history of art.

How is this even a game?
This is also an attempt to make an educational game fun. This is harder than it seems as about every element in the game has to serve an educational purpose. Every level has a few puzzles and tasks that represent important human actions that have affected art. Students have to invent fire, play trading games in ancient Greece, show off archery skills in medieval times and so on. Any ideas are welcome.

How is this made?
I am making this game in MMF2, in semi 3D (it's all cubes and sprites). I am trying hard to make something that looks like "pixel art in 3D)". All textures and sprites are pixeled. I am not sure how much I am supposed to say about the extensions I am using, but I am sure more will be revealed soon.

When will this be done?
The Dutch, raw version of this has to be done by April or I am toast, it will be translated, bugfixed and injected with more fun parts by the summer.

Been working pretty steadily on this (which is not a habit of mine) and am making good progress. I have been trying to decorate the main hall a bit more (with fancy windows and lamps and such) and am adding a computer system in the museum. To open up a door one must first fill in questions on the museum computer next to the door.

Right now the only problem I ran into is Windows Vista. This game runs like crap on it.
