PacoTaco: Mecha-Madness is yet another collaboration project with my buddy Taco. It is a high-octane Beat-Em-Up style game that uses a lot of influences from various games we grew up with, to modern gems like Legend of Princess.
The story goes as follows(I'll avoid spoilers):
"Deep in the center of the [city name], where Paco and Taco are attending a local arcade, a sudden outburst of chaos occurs when the robotic armies of General Sirmanguydude suddenly appear and rampage through the city. Before long, Paco and Taco find themselves in the middle of a war, and couldn't back out if they wanted to! Armed with mighty fists and a sturdy guitar, they smash and crash through hordes of enemies and ruthless generals like General Washbucket and Shock Cousteau. Paco and Taco aren't any superheroes, but they'll try their best to put a stop to this evil army of robots and send General Sirmanguydude packing!"
Beta-footage of gameplay in the game's engine room:
Seen here are the awesome Box Bots (even though they don't attack yet) and the first miniboss of the game: Centifusion, a robotic centipede.
Thanks to the video recording program..FPS rate is at 24-27, but in actuality, the game runs at a buttery-smooth 60 FPS. ;]
The game features a variety of treats for the player:
Long attack strings with optional combo and special attacks.
Insane hordes of enemies rushing at you ensuring plenty of on-screen chaos.
Attack or collect coins to fill up the Special Meter to unleash crazy attacks like Taco's Football Frenzy or Paco's Guitar-Boomerang!
Bosses will be appearing at every which way, so be prepared to use your skills to beat down these brutes!
Future goals include things like:
Two-player co-op, with local play or through the internet!
An actual demo with a completed stage.
Maybe even some simple voice acting, to provide the same humor PacoTaco: Boss Rush has!
