Well, I've been out of the click community for a while, but I'm hoping to make a comeback with Beach Invasion II. It's the sequel to Beach Invasion (http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=1076), but it's 100% redone.
This time, instead of it being from the side view, it's from a top view allowing for more beach area and all around better gameplay.
Things different from the first version:
-Crosshairs adjust. (Aim gets better or worse depending how much you move the cursor/how much you're firing the gun.)
-All new graphics. (I've completely redone the graphics, making them look more realistic, yet still arcade-like.)
-Different win/loss system. (Rather than having to kill a certain amount of guys in each wave without letting a certain amout past, there is an "advancement" line. The line drops if the allied soldiers are making it up the beach safely, and the line rises when you kill them. When the line hits the bottom, you lose.)
-Higgins landing-craft. (Rather than having the soldiers just coming from out of the water like mermaids, they are deployed onto the beach in teams from Higgins landing-craft.)
Online high score list. (I'm not going to lie, I still don't know how to do this, but it's obviously possible because I see it in more and more games. If anybody knows how to do an online high-score list, or a tutorial for one, could you please PM it to me? I'd appreciate it.)
Bunker damage. (Rather than having snipers like in the old game, the soldiers can shoot at the bunker and damage it. You must kill the shooting soldiers quickly before they completely destroy the bunker. Another way to lose.)
Gun overheats. (Besides losing accuracy, this is more motivation to not hold down the trigger all the time.)
Airstrikes. (Order an airplane in to do a strafing run of the area of the beach that you select.)
Powerups. (Includes: Airstrikes. Mortars. Ammo. Health (for bunker).)
Anyway, that about covers the extreme differences in the game, but like I said previously, the game itself is entirely different.
If you have any suggestions or comments about something I should add in there, or if you have some great idea that's going to knock my socks off then by all means reply. I'm not posting this preview to show off my "el173" game making skills , but rather to get feedback from you guys.
