This is a two-for-the-price-of-one preview, since Zoom Man has already been previewed and Bix is too small a game to warrent one all to itself.
ZOOM MAN UPDATE
Zoom Man is going well; I have now completed all the stages bar the last boss level, which I'm planning on spending a few weeks on since I want it to be one of the most epic battles of any game ever. After than I just need to finish off the level select and saving systems and the game will be, in a very rough sense, finished. After that, however, the polishing will begin; going through each level in turn tweaking layouts, fixing bugs and adding little touches and extras.
But without further ado, here is the actual trailer:
Bix is a simple puzzle game that's something of a cross between Space Invaders and Frequency. The aim of the game is to destroy a field of coloured 'Bix Blocks' by firing and detonating 'busters' over them. Match the buster and block colour to set off a chain reaction. It's pretty hard to describe but fairly easy to work out in practice.
The engine that Bix is based off of is actually an unfinished project of mine from a few years ago. I dusted it off and made a game out of it partly because I needed a break from Zoom Man while I was waiting for a few more ideas to pop up and partly because the only game I currently have on my website is the utterly bollocks DownTime.
The game is now pretty much finished; I have only to write the music and it will be ready for release, so expect it to pop up here within a few weeks.
