I think one of the most important rules in Klik is to never hype up your games. Write a description, and let the other people decide what your game is like. Thankyou.

Anyway. AutoShop has posted several previes and threads about this game, and it probably wins the most amount of trouble to put a game online. And in my opinion it wasn't worth the bother, because the game isn't that good.

The best aspect of the game is the presentation of the menus. It is clear that a lot of work has been put into them, they look good, and have their own style. However, the buttons should have fine collision turned off because you currently have to click on the exact pixel of the words. Also some of the options led to the same frame, and with some frames I couldn't get back to the main menu without pressing F2.

Ingame, however, uh... This not very good at all and incredibly flawed. To control the car you have to pick up the keyboard, and control it with each side. Luckily you can change this by pressing Control-Y. And this is only because the default car movement is used - this is incredibly unrealistic. Only 32 directions, no car skidding, and you stop when you crash into whatever those green things are. Trust me, a custom car movement is far better.

The opponents have no AI - they have a path movement, meaning they always take the perfect path and immediately start at and stick to full speed, also at 32 directions. This needs a lot of polishing. Also, near the end your car speed slows down to about 1 and you can't turn, while the opponent car zooms ahead. Also, you progress to the next track even if you lose, it's just an endurance test of whether you can stand the slowness at the end.

The graphics of the cars are OK, but they look as if they're just repainted clones of each other and all have the same speed, I haven't seen any editable stats or anything. The menu graphics are well-done, but ingame the trees if that's what they are look like green pools of sludge and the skidmarks look really unrealistic - they overlap each other when there's only meant to be one set!

I didn't hear any sound or music. Maybe it's to get the file size down or just my computer. Could be worse.

Lastability? I know it's only a demo, but I wouldn't play this for long. There's no challenge, and if there is one it would be unfair. I didn't enjoy this game, I only got to the second or third track before getting bored and angry about the computer always winning. There are difficulty levels, but they all seemed to be the same. This has loads of potential, but perfection is far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, away.
