Sword Star is a rather simple but fun platform game which I enjoyed even though it's rather short. Presentation: The main menu could have been improved by having more than text just saying Sword Star as its just a bit boring. Try adding in some other colourful graphics, as they would look better. Gameplay: The game is really simple in terms of gameplay when compared to other platform games such as Circy's Wibble Wacky World. All you do is attack the enemies and collect the red dots or whatever they're called. Other then that you progress through the level until you reach the teleport at the very end. Improvements in gameplay would be powerups,more attacks, more enemies as well as adding in traps for the player. Its just too easy at the moment for a platform game. Graphics: All the animations and graphics are original which is nice to see but there is little variance between the levels. Try adding themes to the different levels e.g ice,fire etc. At the moment everything is just the same block as the platform and they are quite poor looking. In a platform game you need a lot of variance in the levels to keep the player amused. Again Wibble Wacky World is a prime sample of this. The sword of the character also needs to be changed as it looks transparent at the moment. Also make it so you can fire in the air since its crap having to be on ground to hit the enemy. Sound and Music: I actually liked the music as it fits the game well and as far as I know its original. Its upbeat and fun which is great for a game such as this.The music was probably the better part of this game. Lastability: It only took about 10 mins to finish it as its just too easy. Traps and more enemies are needed to make the game more difficult. At the moment it is too short to count as a good platform game. With a lot of effort by the author,this could be a good game. Overall: The game is just too simple in terms of level design, gameplay and graphics. Much of the design of the game is lazy since the levels just look identical other than a few platforms being moved about.The character of the game isn't at all good either since he's just a shaded circle with a sword. Make a new character and produce a library of objects for different levels instead of using the same ones over and over.When the player begins a new level then it should feel like one and not a re-hash of the previous one.
