The Daily Click ::. Downloads ::. Review Review: Unknown Game 4909
Unless you've been living in a cave for the past few years (and a cave that's not in Middle Earth) then you would know about the LOTR trilogy. Yes, I know the books have been out since about forever, but they're far too long and boring. If I want to know every detail about Legolas' sword then I would look on KaZaA (har har). Anyway, this game is about hobbits, not elves, and what an amazing game this is. It could be somewhat of a cult. Presentation: Just like your average beginner Click-game, it's a mess. The text is everywhere and doesn't fit where it's supposed to, so it overflows buttons and runs into other objects, but it is this that gives this game its charm. As does the awful spelling and grammar mistakes littered all over the place, not that it matters. Isn't that how they spelt in olden days? 6/10 Gameplay: Easy, but straightforward. Your tasks are clearly explained, and there is even some additional help when you start playing. Unfortunately I seem to have activated a cheat mode when I started, because I kept pressing Control and moved about randomly and completed most of the game. Difficulty is added by use of the builtin platform movement - be careful on that boss, get stuck in a rock and you're done for! Challenging for all the family. 7/10 Graphics: Everything is handdrawn, therefore it must be a great game and also displays originality. This is something which is lacking in games like 'Eternal Daughter', 'Super Ken Senshi' et al, which are just simple platform games or shoot-'em-ups. The graphics give the feeling of playing the film and being a character - lots of people dress up as hobbits themselves, but not many people can relate to a spaceship or female peasant, especially on this website. The graphics themselves look quite good, but it's hard to tell when you're running it in 16 colours and a 50Hz monitor. 8/10 Sound and Music: This features a quality soundtrack originally written at some point in the past by whoever wrote the LOTR music. Since I have a better sound card then you it sounds very good. It also features tracks from the X-Files and Ghostbusters. Since there were spooky moments and some things which looked like ghosts, these were very appropriate. These also sounded just like the originals because I have a better sound card then you. Overall, the music picked for this was outstanding and unique, just like the films. 10/10 Lastability: Just as lots of people watch LOTR again and again, so people will replay this game. Just like they wear hobbit costumes. Weird people. 8/10 Overall: It's an amazing game and I think everyone should play it at least once in your lives. Although gameplay wise it is far from perfect, the raw originality and genius production decisions will fill you full of ideas and wonder. If not, then it'll just leave you with an empty feeling. Sorry. 8/10
