The Daily Click ::. Downloads ::. Review Review: Unknown Game 5009
Yes, here we go again. At first I didn't want to download this game, but then it came to my mind that I am the unknown tetris-master and that I needed to test this to see if it would match either the original Tetris or the other crappy clones that've been done over the years. The presentation was not something I enjoyed. The menu was...Yes, there was music, but does it have to switch to another song by just pressing the credits- or the controls-button? That was rather anoying. I believe that the menu (or 'title-screen') is included to the most important thing in a game. It's the first thing you see (after the fading logos and such), and also gives the player a fast first impression of the game's quality. In this case I got some baaad negative tensions about this game. The gameplay was the greatest thing about this game. I know it isn't easy doin a good tetris-engine but Salt did it pretty well in this game. One thing though was that it was a rather boring gameplay with no power-up's or anything to separate and improve from the original Tetris. I can say; good engine with boring gameplay. This is one of those categories that the autor, Salt, should have been working on a lot more than he have done in this game. I must say the graphics are more worse than the most simple Tertis version made in windows 95. Seriously, I got bored of watching these borders and the plain clolours of the bricks. This could be improved! I like the different kinds of music when you got into the actual game. I liked also that you could change between them during your gameplay. The songs in the menu should have been changed into just one song that played non-stop. Good soun FX though! Haha, bearly laughed at that "Bravo Petro"-wave that plays after you succed with scoring. Well, you will not play this game for a long time, i promise you. I think you'd enjoy more to wait for a better game to arrive at TDC or elsewhere. Summary: "Good engine, no gameplay."
