Hmmm, a klik rpg. A rare breed. In fact, I can't remember the last time someone released a klik rpg! This game is a mixed bag, but not in the way that you think. Every good thing about this game are the parts that are here, and the only bad parts are the parts that are missing. So that should be taken as a compliment. In Christmas Quest, your mission to... ahem... kill Santa because he didn't give you a PS3. Tsk tsk tsk. NOTE TO BOY: BE GOOD NEXT YEAR! The gameplay is this is a bit quirky. However, there are many rpgs with less-than-stellar gameplay that are still a lot of fun. I personally really enjoyed playing this despite any gameplay shortcomings. The shops and ugrade systems are crude (the game was made in a hurry), but still very effective. The battle systems were simple, but still a lot of fun! This game comes with the disadvantage of being rushed out the door. It was made in 3 days, so the scores suffer from a lack of polish, or simply a lack of completion. With more care added to these gameplay mechanics, this could be a really fun rpg engine! Graphics are very enjoyable in this game. Graphics are all original (I think), and the town, overworld, and dungeon (although simple and small) are still well made and put together in a good fashion. These locations still had a lot of personality despite it's short 3 day creation time. Sounds and music were very good. Music was very well chosen and really added a kick to this game. I also didn't recognize what games the audio was from, which is another plus! Lastability is a mixed bag again. I played straight through without stopping, which speaks very highly of it's lastability potential. However, it's an unfinished game, so it's very short. I would HIGHLY recommend that the author make a full rpg. It doesn't have to be this game, but just an rpg in this style. I think there is a lot of talent and potential here. I would love to see a full rpg made from this mold. Overall, this is an enjoyable game that only suffers from being extrememly rushed. The engine is very simple, but would work just fine with a bit more graphic polish. This FELT like a real rpg. I enjoyed collecting exp points and spending them, and I would love to see that system expanded upon with more customizable stats and spells. I think this author has a lot of potential for klik rpgs, and I hope he takes some time to make a full length game next. Recommended for klik rpg fans with 10 minutes to spare.
