Here is a very interesting game called Trent 3 about a turtle on a mission to stomp on things and get through lots of levels! Trent 3 is inspired by games like Super Mario World and Kirby. You'll navigate side scrolling levels while collecting powerups that change the appearance and abilities of Trent the turtle. Despite the simple and colorful graphics, this is actually a very advanced platformer. Play control for Trent 3 is very manageable and most players will get along with it just fine, especially after some practice. Trent's acceleration is a bit slow, and makes him feel like he's heavier than he should be. Aside from that, play control is pretty solid and there is quite an assortment of moves that you'll use on your quest, including wall jumps, stomps, and using all the powers of your multicolored shells. These powers are all very well done, and it adds a huge amount of variety and interest to the gameplay. New players may run into trouble because it's easy to run out of shell powers and get stuck. This has been fixed to some degree by a better supply of "refills". But players beware: Take care of those shell charges, they are NOT unlimited! Graphics in Trent 3 are excellent. The worlds are colorful and interesting, and the enemies are fun and have a lot of personality. Trent 3 was a labor of love and it shows. Trent is a very fun and endearing character, and getting from point A to point B was always fun with him! I also enjoyed how bizarre and creative some of the enemies were. Sounds and music are fine and well chosen, although it may have been better if fewer mario sound fx were used. I think Trent deserves a unique set of sounds, or at least some that aren't as easily recognizable. Music is taken from several games with a similar cartoony feel, such as Banjo Kazooie (a favorite of mine). Lastability has the potential to be very high for players who take the time to get used to the shell system. The system of selecting and using different shells can feel a bit awkward at first, and the selection of moves a bit tricky to pull off the first few times, but things get a lot easier with practice. The world of Trent 3 is VERY expansive and you could easily spend several hours with it. Overall, Trent 3 is well worth the download. It's set in a huge world of colorful and creative landscapes, fun and diverse enemies, and a unique shell system that keeps things challenging and interesting. Highly recommended for any platformer fan!
