It look's great!

This looks brilliant! Keep up the good work and I'll be back to see more of this game when it's implemented more pokemon-based functions. = Good-job!

...

Pokemon?

Posted by 15th June, 2006

Pokemon? You can only walk around... nothing happens... Sorry!

Voce saiu na frente, mas o meu projeto continua....

Posted by -Nick- 16th June, 2006

Well it kept telling me to select a player the first time i played.

I loaded it up again later and it took me straight into the game without even seeing the screen i saw the time before... but it was all very pleasant wandering round pokemon land... all on my own

Its the game that should have been made by Nintendo years ago, but didnt have the ability to. Now they have the ability to, but will they? Who knows... but until then, keep up the 'good work', looks like it could really turn into something interesting. Know though, that you have a lot of work ahead of you as far as getting all the Pokemon in, all the attacks, all the items... its a pretty big job to take on. If your willing to take it on though, congrats!

Okay, first off:

Give credit where credit is due. All converted graphics here done by Konidias. It seems he may have OK'd this, but I see no mention of his name.

Second: Don't bullshit. 4/5 of those pictures aren't from your engine and come from screenshots Koni posted up of his way back in 2001.

If Circy could re-evaluate this, that'd be great.

This is nice, kinda reminds me of the old tibia engine but way better. Keep going and you can start having a community ^^

Posted by steve 16th June, 2006

Nice to see you did not use a default movement.
It's very close to the original pokemon engine so far.
Although what has been accomplished so far is the "easy" part.
I would be suprised if you can build an entire pokemon world (with monsters) unless you have a team of people spreading the work load.

Good Luck

Steve? Don't spoil the hopes

I wish you good luck, Haris. I'd love to play your game once it's finished.

Posted by steve 16th June, 2006

well, when you think about the original pokemon games it was an INCREDIBLE display of coding and engineering to pack so much stuff into those tiny cartridges.
It saved so many stats on each character, monster types, items etc.
This project will require many arrays and some complex coding

Posted by 16th June, 2006

Yeah, i can bet my left foot on that this game will never even feature one fully working battle. Ya!

OMG CHAIRS!!!1

Hey, its a really good engine so far! Keep it up! If you can finish this I'd be glued to it!

Posted by Mruqe 16th June, 2006

@Aiko Airdrake: Statements like that made allready someone eat evil kitty's toenails, so look out

Posted by tdc052621 17th June, 2006

Hey firespell, go f*** youself, i hope you get a permanent IP range ban for pulling that s***.

?.? pulling what shit?

Posted by The Chris Street 17th June, 2006

Yah what are you talking about Zim?

Ketchup Kemel is Aiko Airdrake, if that's what you're talking about.

Posted by steve 17th June, 2006

i think he meant the comment about Firespell telling everyone how to ban someone from playing this game.

Posted by 60 Cents 17th June, 2006

Circy im not!

Koni's response on their forums:

---------------------------------------------
Okay I think I should clear a few things up. I'm not endorsing this game or website in any way. I don't want my graphics being used, nor any screenshots. I'm not against an online pokemon game, but I would appreciate it if my graphics, screenshots, and my name were not used.

Please don't affiliate me with this game. I'm trying to put it behind me as it was 4 years ago and this just seems like something that won't get buried.

I saw on the Daily Click website that you're using 4 out of 5 screenshots that were mine, and the 5th one has me in it, when it's really not me. I don't really appreciate that at all. I've moved on from pokemon and POL and I'd like my name and my work to be left out of this or any other projects.
---------------------------------------------

Why hasn't Circy done anything about this? Essentially, they're building hype for their little game (or avatar-chat, as it stands) off of screenshots that aren't theirs and never were.

Ketchup Kamel (or Airdrake, or whatever your name is):

GO AWAY. It's not funny. You shouldn't be alive.

Looks like it...

Posted by Airflow 18th June, 2006

Awesome idea!

Posted by Hempuli 18th June, 2006

yup

Posted by 60 Cents 18th June, 2006

This sucks!
Even my Ketchup Kamel game is better, and that one was horrible!

Oops... forgot to spell bad...

"I don't get it Matt, are you saying this is a random person posting someone else's abandoned game around?"

Back in '00, a user by the name of Konidias set out to create a game called POL, or Pokemon Online. He posted up screenshots detailing all the graphics he converted and smoothed out, put out an offline beta and created a general hype for the game. Barring a few site changes and modifications, this went on up until to '02, which is when he announced he would be ceasing development on it because 1) he wanted to move on, 2) he was creating a set of tools to help facilitate the creation of a MMORPG, and 3) he was wary of dealing with the legal ramifications of creating a fan-game.

What he's pissed about here, is that:

- Screenshots 1, 2, 4 and 5 are from HIS game, not theirs
- They have someone impersonating him (Screenshot 3)
- They are using graphics HE converted and smoothed out (note the Caveman BR characters and other such tiles)

fan game!!! *bashes* lol

Posted by Gamer 19th June, 2006

It seems he's done the right thing and took 'em down.. however, the bit about using Koni's converted graphics still stands.
