A Zelda style scrolling engine

A simple little engine I made a while back. Not terribly original but I was pleased with how it turned out.

Uses an invisible target for the scrolling (the red crosshair in the screenshot): If the player leaves the visible screen area the crosshair moves to the center of the next room and the scrolling follows it. A simple flag check in the movement code stops the player and enemies from moving whilst the scrolling catches up.

Also implemented is a respawner that deletes any old enemies as they leave the screen and replaces them with ones at the spawn points (the red-lined black squares). The black borders are necessary to stop this from being seen.

Arrow keys move around, shift fires and [ and ] switch between the two weapons I implemented.

To be honest, there are many Zelda style scrolling examples here on the site if you are patient enough to dig around for them both in the articles and downloads. Perhaps put your skills to use in other areas of tutorials that are not seen as often?

Sorry I don't have the source anymore! There's a wealth of information online on how do implement a Zelda style system a lot more efficiently than I did x)
