Level 1: Robot Unicorn Attack Parody.
Level 2: Fall down the map and buy blocks which you can place to get back up. There is no end though.
No installation required, just download and play!

you can place blocks in the second level with your mousepointer when you've bought blocks from the shop.

Controls:
Arrows to move, Shift to jump.
Use Up-arrow to enter shop.
Use Down-arrow to exit shop.
Left click to place Yellow Block.
Middle click to place Green Block.
Right click to remove block/terrain.

Touching the Hopper will make your points decrease.
Placing a Yellow Block costs 5. Picking it up adds 5.
Placing a Green Block costs only 2! Picking it up adds 10!

Did you design either one of the games to be able to be completed? I earned over 100 points in running mode, and made it to the top level in building mode (which I think is VERY cool and has a lot of potential!), and nothing changed.

And the song you have in building mode is fantastic.

Thanks! I built the game around the sprite so there's no real end to the game.

Honestly though, you can create some excellent puzzle game levels with the block-building mechanic you have assembled. Might you consider expanding on this idea? Or would you mind if I had a go at it sometime?

Go for it!
I use the block thing every now and then in games.
It would be awesome to make it place blocks in a grid, that way you could do a minecraft clone really easy.

I'll try a quick solution to that block-placement mechanic. If anything comes of this, I'll be sure to pass along the news.

Long time, no see. But I had some time today to put together a basic mechanic for creating and destroying blocks the player can use. Here's the MFA file, which features David N. Wong's custom platform engine:

http://www.let-off.com/software/examples/create-destroy/platform_and_create-destroy.mfa

HOW IT WORKS.

When the player presses and holds down the SPACEBAR, it pauses the game. A crosshair will appear (a purple circle). Move the crosshair with the CURSOR KEYS. To place a block, press the ENTER key.

You can also destroy a block by overlapping it with the crosshair and pressing the SHIFT key.

Tell me what you think; I may turn this into a puzzle platformer somehow/someday.
